The John Blue House, described as a "riverboat on land" was built in the 1890's and has been restored to its former grandeur. The interior is refurnished with period furnishings from the parlor, formal dining room, to the bedrooms.

Across from the John Blue House is the Historical Museum of Scotland County. Featured are Laurinburg's second motorized fire truck, a 1905 Maxwell and antique 'hit and miss' engines.

Several historical cabins have been relocated to the John Blue Complex. Amoung them is the Jones-Lytch Cabin, the Feguson Study, the Shaw Cabin and the McNeill Cabin.

Don't forget to visit the A.D. Gibson Store. On display are tools and products from days past, an old soda fountain, and an early physician's office.

The John Blue complex has an outdoor stage that hosts musicals and dances as well as the John Blue Cotton Festival andStorytelling Festival of the Carolinas.

|
The grounds of the John Blue House also feature an old saw mill, a cotton gin and press, and a railroad for the whole family to enjoy.
